Momodou is a chartered accountant with a wealth of experience in banking, internal audits, and financial control. He currently works as Senior Manager of Financial Reporting at NAWEC. Before NAWEC, he was an Accountant with the German International Development Co-operation (GIZ) Police Project. Mr Fatty has previously worked as an internal auditor within the banking industry.

Abdou Karim Senghore

Mr Abdou Karim Senghore holds an MSc in Strategy and International Business from the Aston Business School in the UK and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the Kent Business School in the UK.

Mr Senghore is a Treasury management specialist at LIMA CAPITAL, a financial consulting firm registered in The Gambia. Before joining LIMA, he was the Treasury Manager at Hashi Energy Holdings Limited, an integrated solutions providing multi-national conglomerate headquartered in Dubai with operations in the Oil &Gas, Logistics, and Commodities across East Africa.

Mr Senghore has a banking career spanning almost a decade and a half with Ecobank Gambia Limited. He started as a graduate trainee and rose to be the Country Treasury within 6 years, holding the position for 7 years. He has vast expertise in liquidity management, market risk, hedging, and securities.

Under his leadership, the Treasury team at Ecobank Gambia organically grew the balance sheet to become the biggest bank in The Gambia. Over the period they also became and remain the most significant player in the local FX market.

Mr Salifu is currently the Director of Finance at the Petroleum Commission-Gambia, he has a proven track record of financial excellence and strategic leadership. With extensive experience gained from roles at Gambia National Petroleum Corporation, Ecobank Gambia, Access Bank Gambia, DT-Associates (Formerly Deloitte), and Deloitte and Touche-The Gambia, Salifu has excelled in financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and corporate finance, and is known for his ability to drive organizational growth and profitability through data-driven decision-making and compliance with financial regulations.

As a seasoned finance professional in his previous role, Salifu provided invaluable strategic guidance to the executive teams, enhancing financial operations and processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. He also has a good understanding of the oil and gas value chain.

Salifu co-founded the Finance Leadership Forum with colleagues and started as the first Membership and Public Relations Manager before his current election as the President. During the first three years, the forum launched quarterly webinars and organized more than four physical events that drew over 200 professionals. In addition, as part of his social enterprise, Salifu served as Treasurer of the Pakau Njogu Village Development Association. In this voluntary role, he served on committees that have implemented career-changing initiatives to encourage and mentor young people in the Village.

Salifu Bah holds an MSc in Finance and Investment from the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Madeline Sambou

She obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc Management with a Minor in Economics in 2007 from the University of The Gambia and a master’s in science from Liege University in Belgium.

While in my final year at the University, she started a teaching job at St. Francis Senior Secondary School for a year. She was later recruited by Guaranty Trust Bank (G) Ltd in September 2008 and worked under the Foreign Operations Unit as Unit Head. In August 2012, before proceeding to her Master’s.

In October 2014 after completing her studies, she rejoined Guaranty Trust Bank (G) Ltd and was redeployed to the Compliance Unit as Chief Compliance Officer from May 2017 to February 2022.

In March 2022, joined the National Water and Electricity Company Ltd (NAWEC) as the Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs, a position she currently holds. She attended National training in AML/CFT Compliance and Power Sector Regulation during her career. She also got training in Gender mainstreaming in the Energy Sector and Gender in Development.

Currently, she serves as the Acting Chairperson for the NAWEC Gender Committee and recently as the Secretary of the Financial Leadership Forum (FLF).

Notably, she became the first Gambian admitted to the team of trainers in the Deloitte Africa group. Joining Trust Bank in 2007, she rose through the ranks to become Deputy Managing Director before her historic promotion to Managing Director in December 2021. Njilan’s influence extends beyond Trust Bank, as she serves on the boards of several companies and passionately mentors young women entering the business world.
